Originally created by Federation Seeds, Island Sweet Skunk (aka Sweet Island Skunk or ISS) is a sativa dominant hybrid that was made by crossing the pungent Skunk #1 and Sweet Pink Grapefruit, though other variations include other Skunk and Grapefruit phenotypes. The genetics from its parental strains come together to offer users a pungent yet nicely sweet flavour combo of diesel and fruity grapefruit citrus! Island Sweet Skunk, also called Sweet Island Skunk or ISS, is a sativa dominant hybrid strain that was originally created on Vancouver Island and continues to be a Pacific Northwest favourite. It has a ratio of 80% sativa to 20% indica, with THC levels ranging anywhere from 16% to 25% potency. Its conception derives from Federation Seeds though today there are different variations of the strain. This includes a cross of the Californian Skunk #1 and Sweet Pink Grapefruit, though other phenotypes include crossing the aromatic Grapefruit with the legendary Northern Lights and Haze, or Skunk #1 with Sweet Skunk along with yet another unknown sativa. This strain also comes in a CBD variety for those requiring stronger medical benefits and lesser THC content.

Appearance & Aroma

Island Sweet Skunk nuggets are small and tend to be more dense, which is more typical of indicas despite its heavier sativa dominance. They are primarily light and yellowish green, similar to lime or kiwi, accented by thick brassy orange pistils and finished with tiny crystal trichomes. Its aromas are, as its name indicates, quite pungent and skunky, though it is nicely balanced by sweet and fruity citrus notes. Fans of the more gassy diesel strains will enjoy the flavours of this one for its funky blend of skunkiness, citrus grapefruit and hints of tropical fruits!
